Our Mazatlan Christmas

Yes, I do know that it is now March but better late than never!

We had a great Mexican Christmas with the Hunzeker family. Ellie was just getting over her first ear infection so the flight out was a bit rough at times. Once we got into Mexico she perked right up and we had a lot of firsts!

Elisabeth experienced sand for the first time:

And of course after a few minutes the sun hat was ripped off and her mouth was full of sand. We spent a lot of time trying to keep that sand out of her mouth! And out of her eyes, and her nose, and her ears... we had to plaster her in sunscreen every time we went out and the sand loved to stick ALL over. Lots of fun!

Some other firsts:
First time sitting under an umbrella tree on the beach with Grandma

First time exploring the beach and feeling the waves with Grandpa

First time eating Mexican cuisine... and apparently she liked it!

And it was the first time meeting Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Call!

It was great to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa. Ellie especially loved Grandma's dangly earrings. We also got to see cousin Natalie and it was fun for the girls to play together.

There was a lot to do on the beach and we spent quite a bit of time playing beach volleyball. Here you can see Dan executing a great spike. Ellie and I were up on the grass cheering him on!

After a long day of swimming I liked to lounge out on the balcony with a delicious pineapple smoothie and my kindle. It's a rough life.

Here is the Hunzeker family on Christmas morning:

Our little family after a great Christmas breakfast.
I guess the breakfast wasn't that great for little Ellie.

We had a wonderful time swimming,

enjoying beautiful sunsets

and relaxing.

It was a great family vacation!

So I was trying to get a video of Ellie dancing because she is starting to get some great moves. Then she did something new... a few unassisted steps! Pretty exciting. Hope you don't mind the French music blaring away.

Peter, Ellie... and now Seth!

All the new cousins together!

This last weekend we were lucky enough to go down to Salt Lake for little Seth's blessing. Our family has been blessed with lots of babies recently... all within 10 weeks! Here is Peter at 13 weeks, Ellie at 11 weeks, and Seth at 3 weeks. It is so great to have cousins!

I haven't blogged for a while because I haven't had many new pictures due to a camera mishap. We enjoyed a great trip exploring the Oregon coast with Jon, Ysi & Peter and Becky, Chad & kids. It was a LOT of driving but it was so beautiful. Too bad our camera wasn't functioning!

Other than that we have been keeping busy in the garden and taking care of our baby girl. Here are some more pictures from our weekend in Salt Lake...

Ellie & Daddy off to the blessing

Lots of time in the carseat

But then she got to watch some TV with Daddy

We got all of the cousins together for a shot... too bad they are all looking in different directions... none of which were directed at my camera. Peter fell asleep waiting for us to take the pictures, Seth was making funny faces, and Ellie looks like she is going to slide right off the couch! Andrew was a bit upset because he was the only one who didn't get a baby. Guess our family needs another baby!

Swing Swing

I'm loving this swing!

Ellie is starting to have more awake time... which I love. She has this really intense wide eyed look that she gives me and it just makes my day. Today she was crying and crying and I couldn't figure out why. Sometimes babies just need to cry I guess. I tried everything... food, diaper change, binkie, food, binkie, food, burping, binkie, bouncing, walking, etc. She just was not a happy camper.

Then.... I tried the swing. Ah the swing. I hear it right now clicking away and it is the most beautiful sound in the world. My little angel has finally fallen asleep in her swing. She is the cutest little thing ever and I just had to post the pictures. I love you Elisabeth!!

Going.... Going.....

Gone!

Alright already!!

So I'm ready to jump on the blog bandwagon!

I have heard several times that I should start blogging but now that we have our Ellie here the requests have beomce difficult to ignore. Now that I have more time at home I will be able to keep a record of her antics for family and friends to follow.

I don't really know what I'm doing but I'm sure I will get plenty of advice from my cute sisters who are blog masters.

For right now there is not much to report. We are happy to have our little girl here and she has been so much fun! Motherhood is the best job ever. Dan and I love listening to her little grunts, squeaks, and sighs and it is strange how we can just sit and watch her sleep and never get bored. She is the best thing ever and we are blessed to be her parents!
